This After the Fire walkthrough provides a practical route guide for progressing through the main character events covered by Barry’s Guide. Because many events depend on visiting a specific character at the correct location and time of day, the guide begins with character schedules before moving into the individual Katelyn, Sister, Bailey and Aunt routes.

After the Fire uses a location and time-based progression system. Important events may only appear during the morning, midday, afternoon or night, and several route steps require earlier events to be completed first.

If an expected event does not trigger, check three things before assuming the game is stuck: the current day, the current time period and whether all earlier route requirements have been completed.

The schedules below are especially useful when a walkthrough step tells you to find a character without giving you an immediate event marker.

Schedule note: Before Aunt and Cousin move in, the weekend morning bathroom schedule differs. Sister can be found there on Saturday and Sunday mornings, while Katelyn uses the bathroom on the other mornings indicated by the earlier household schedule.

1. Meet Katelyn at your new school to begin her progression.
2. Continue advancing time until Katelyn wakes you in the morning and complete the resulting event.
3. You now need Dad to leave. Eat breakfast in the kitchen twice. The next time you are in your room during the morning, the business-trip event should occur.
4. After Dad has left, visit Katelyn at night and continue her bedroom progression.
5. Find Katelyn doing yoga around midday. Speak to her and choose the option related to getting her a new yoga outfit.
6. Go to her room, obtain the clothes and bring them to Katelyn in the living room.
7. Talk to Katelyn at the pool. If you do not yet have the required swimsuit, she will provide money for it.
8. Visit the FAP store at the mall, buy the swimsuit and return to the pool.
9. Later, find Katelyn using her phone in the living room around midday. Follow the event to the garage and accompany her to her gig.
10. Continue the nighttime Katelyn progression.
11. Return during the day for the next yoga-related event.
12. Complete the final Katelyn progression event covered by this walkthrough.

1. First trigger Dad’s business trip. Eat breakfast with him twice, then return to your room during a later morning to make him leave.
2. Afterward, speak to Sister after school.
3. Watch TV with Katelyn during the afternoon and ask about Sister’s spending habits.
4. Talk to Sister after school again and choose the option involving modeling.
5. Check the living room during the afternoon for the next progression event.
6. Watch TV with Katelyn again and ask her for money.
7. Go to the FAP store at the mall and purchase the requested item.
8. Give it to Sister while she is alone in her room during the afternoon.
9. Go to Sister’s room on Friday night to begin the party sequence.
10. Follow the party progression: interact with Sister outside, check the cooler inside, speak with Chloe in her room, then return outside and continue the event before leaving.
11. On a weekend morning, check the pool and talk to Sister.
12. Go to the mall and speak to the suspicious man. Choose the option to pretend to be lost.
13. When you gain access to his phone, follow the sequence indicated by the source: check the messages, read the emails, inspect the photos, clear the cloud data and send the required information to Sister.
14. Return to Sister at the pool on a weekend morning.
15. Finally, visit Sister when she is alone in her room to complete the progression covered by this guide.

1. After your first day of school, ask for advice about Bailey.
2. At the high school in the morning, listen to Bailey’s conversation with Chad.
3. Return to the high school in the morning and listen to Chad speaking with his friend.
4. Talk to Bailey in her room during the afternoon.
5. On Wednesday afternoon, go to Sister’s room when Bailey and Sister are together.
6. At midday, visit the football field and watch Bailey, Chloe and Sister during cheer practice.
7. Return to the high school in the morning for the next Bailey/Sister event.
8. Visit Chad at the football field around midday.
9. Retrieve the required item from Chad’s locker. The locker key can be found in the supply closet in the locker-room area by the football field.
10. On Friday night, enter the living room to start the football-game sequence.
11. After the game, talk to Chad and Bailey. The source recommends obtaining the baseball bat from the supply closet beforehand if needed.
12. After the weekend, visit Bailey in her room during the afternoon to finish the route progression covered by the walkthrough.

1. Wait until the Friday after Dad leaves. Aunt and Cousin should arrive during the morning.
2. Talk to Aunt in her room during the morning to welcome her.
3. Check the living room around midday for the phone-related argument event.
4. Help Aunt with the laundry when she is in the laundry room.
5. Check Aunt’s room around midday to find her and Katelyn moving boxes.
6. At night, go to Cousin’s room to trigger the conversation between Aunt and Cousin.
7. Return to Aunt during a laundry-room event and continue her route.
8. Watch TV with Katelyn during the afternoon to trigger the next surprise visit.
9. Talk to Cousin in her room at night.
10. Visit Aunt at the hot tub for the next progression event.
11. The following morning, find Aunt preparing for her interview in Katelyn’s room.
12. After the interview, check the kitchen at night for Aunt’s return event.
13. Before continuing, obtain a baseball bat. According to the walkthrough, one can be found in the locker room near the football field.
14. Go to bed and complete the event that follows.
15. Talk to Aunt the next morning to complete the Aunt progression covered by this guide.

• Dad leaving is an important prerequisite. Several routes do not progress normally until the business-trip sequence has occurred.
• Pay attention to the time period. Morning, midday, afternoon and night are separate progression windows.
• Some events are day-specific. Bailey has an important Wednesday-afternoon event, while Sister and Bailey both have Friday-night progression.
• Use the schedules when an event appears missing. A character may simply be in another location at the current time.
• Do not skip prerequisite conversations. Later events often depend on earlier dialogue or location events.
• Keep the baseball bat in mind. It is referenced later in both Bailey and Aunt progression and can be obtained from the locker-room supply area near the football field.

The walkthrough shows that several routes share prerequisites and locations, so completing them completely independently is not always efficient. A practical approach is to begin Katelyn’s early events, trigger Dad’s business trip, progress Sister and Bailey through their school-related events, and then begin Aunt’s route after Aunt and Cousin move into the house.

You do not need to memorize every schedule. Instead, use the tables above whenever a required character is not where you expect them to be.

An event is not appearing

Check that you are visiting the correct location during the correct time period and that every previous route step has already been completed. Some events also require a specific weekday.

Dad has not left yet

The source instructs you to eat breakfast with Dad twice. After that, return to your room during the morning to trigger his business trip.

Aunt and Cousin have not arrived

Their arrival occurs on the Friday after Dad has left. Progress the calendar after completing the business-trip prerequisite.

I cannot find the baseball bat

Check the supply closet in the locker-room area near the football field. The walkthrough references this location during both Bailey and Aunt progression.

Bailey’s Wednesday event does not trigger

Visit Sister’s room on Wednesday afternoon after completing Bailey’s preceding school and bedroom events.

This guide follows the progression and schedules contained in Barry’s Guide to Babes. The supplied walkthrough covers Katelyn, Sister, Bailey and Aunt in detail and also provides Cousin’s schedule, but it does not provide a complete standalone Cousin route. For that reason, this article does not invent additional Cousin progression steps that are absent from the source.
