This TOXICity walkthrough helps you understand the game’s choices, character stats, relationship requirements and important progression checks. TOXICity is a story-driven visual novel by ILSProductions where John and a growing group of survivors are trapped inside a city surrounded by a dangerous fog. Your decisions influence how other survivors respond to John and can change conversations, relationship progression and access to certain scenes.
If you have not installed the game yet, visit the TOXICity download page for game information, supported platforms and available download resources.
This guide is based on the official TOXICity walkthrough and is designed as a practical companion rather than a single “correct choices” route. Many decisions increase one stat while reducing another, so the best choice depends on which character or relationship you want to develop.
How the TOXICity Choice System Works
TOXICity tracks several relationship and emotional stats for its characters. Choices throughout the story can increase or decrease these values, while some changes happen automatically as part of story events.
The five main stats used by the walkthrough are:
- Love (L) – Tracks romantic feelings toward John. Love generally develops through affection, intimacy and relationship-focused decisions.
- Friend (F) – Measures friendship with a character. Higher Friendship can change conversations and help unlock variations of later scenes.
- Desire (D) – Represents attraction and sexual tension. Some optional scenes require enough Desire even when a romantic relationship has not fully developed.
- Trust (T) – Measures how much a character trusts John’s judgment and decisions. Trust can affect dialogue, reactions and important progression checks.
- Anxiety (A) – Represents a character’s stress and emotional condition. Unlike the other stats, increasing Anxiety is not necessarily beneficial. Certain events and choices check whether Anxiety is above or below a particular threshold.
Because TOXICity frequently checks combinations of these stats, there is no universal choice that should always be selected. A decision that improves your relationship with Laura may not help Kallie, while another choice may increase Desire but affect Anxiety or Trust differently.
TOXICity Walkthrough – Chapter Guide
The walkthrough below focuses on choices that change character stats or influence later events. Choices without a listed consequence can usually be selected according to your preferred role-playing style.
Prologue
The Prologue immediately introduces the stat system through Laura and Kallie.
- “Agree with Laura.” – Laura Friend +1.
- “You have a reason to go home.” – Laura Anxiety +1.
- “She mentioned something about smoke.” – Kallie Anxiety +1.
These early decisions demonstrate an important rule for the rest of the game: not every stat increase represents a reward. Anxiety tracks emotional pressure and can later be used as a condition for alternate outcomes.
Chapter 1
Kallie’s Friendship and Anxiety begin changing more frequently during Chapter 1.
- The chapter begins with Kallie Anxiety +1.
- “No signal myself.” – Kallie Anxiety +1.
- “Let me try Laura.” – Kallie Friend +1.
- “Tell her you already tried that.” – Kallie Friend -1.
- “Ask.” – Kallie Friend +1.
- “Try to lift her spirits.” – Kallie Anxiety -1.
- The following morning automatically gives Kallie Anxiety +1 and Kallie Desire +1.
- “Reassure her.” – Kallie Anxiety -1.
If you are concentrating on Kallie’s route, pay particular attention to Friendship and Trust instead of simply maximizing every available stat.
Chapter 2
Chapter 2 begins introducing decisions that affect several characters at once.
- “Suggest Kallie take her.” – Kallie Trust +1.
- “Take her yourself.” – Laura Friend +1 and Laura Desire +1.
- “Don’t mention it.” – Laura Desire +1.
- “Mention it.” – Laura Anxiety +1, Laura Trust +1, Kallie Anxiety +1 and Kallie Trust +1.
- “Say something.” – Kallie Anxiety +1 and Kallie Friend +1.
- “Highlight of my day.” – Laura Friend +1 when the required earlier event occurred.
- “Not like you need it.” – Kallie Friend +1.
You will also encounter a direct choice between Kallie and Laura. Selecting Kallie gives Kallie Friend +1 while reducing her Anxiety. Selecting Laura produces the corresponding Friend and Anxiety changes for Laura.
Near the end of the chapter, Kallie’s Trust can change the result of another interaction. This is one of the early examples of TOXICity checking a stat you accumulated from previous decisions rather than only evaluating the current choice.
Chapter 3
Relationship conditions become more important in Chapter 3.
- “And you don’t?” – Laura Friend +1.
- “I’ll think about it.” – Laura Anxiety +1.
- If Kallie’s Anxiety reaches the required level, checking on her gives Kallie Trust +1, while leaving her alone changes her Anxiety.
- “I’m sure it’ll be great.” – Kallie Friend +1.
- Allowing the girls to use the showers affects Kallie’s Anxiety and can produce an additional Desire increase when her Desire already meets the requirement.
- The scene also increases Desire for Laura and Kallie.
- “Place a hand on her back.” – Laura Friend +1.
- “It’s okay. I’m here.” – Kallie Friend +1.
A later Laura interaction requires enough Friendship and Desire. If the condition is met, continuing the interaction can increase Laura’s Love while changing Desire. This is an early example of why building several compatible relationship stats can matter more than maximizing only one.
Chapter 4
Chapter 4 contains several Friendship, Trust and Anxiety adjustments for Laura and Kallie.
- “I believe you guys.” – Kallie Anxiety -1.
- “Talk to her about it.” – Laura Anxiety -1.
- “You want to sit around and watch?” – Laura Anxiety +1.
- “Hanging here all day may not be healthy.” – Laura Trust +1.
- “Say something.” – Kallie Friend +1.
- “You can stay here if you want.” – Kallie Friend -1.
- “I can try to move the body.” – Kallie Anxiety +1.
Kallie’s Friendship can also unlock an additional nighttime interaction. Laura’s earlier relationship progression can similarly change which choices become available later in the chapter.
Chapter 5
Chapter 5 contains several relationship checks based on decisions from earlier chapters.
- Laura receives a Desire increase during the shower sequence.
- If John previously developed an intimate relationship with Laura, an additional choice can increase Laura’s Love.
- If Kallie’s Friend stat meets the required threshold, additional Trust-related dialogue becomes available.
- The trip automatically increases Anxiety for both Kallie and Laura.
- Kallie’s Trust affects the result of the morning interaction.
- A later Kallie sequence changes depending on her Friendship and Trust values.
Players following Kallie should avoid treating Friendship and Trust as interchangeable. Several scenes use separate thresholds for each stat.
Chapter 6
Chapter 6 introduces Shelley as another important relationship character.
- Meeting Shelley automatically gives Shelley Anxiety +1.
- “And after that?” – Shelley Anxiety +1.
- “Ask anyway.” – Shelley Anxiety +1.
- “Been a rough few days.” – Shelley Trust +1.
- “Ask her.” – Shelley Anxiety +1.
- Several Laura and Kallie choices continue changing Friendship, Trust and Anxiety throughout the chapter.
Kallie’s route also contains an important relationship check. Sufficient Friendship, or the appropriate combination of Friendship and Desire, can allow a later scene to continue instead of ending early.
Chapter 7
Chapter 7 develops Shelley’s relationship more heavily while continuing Laura and Kallie’s routes.
- “Be kind.” – Laura Trust +1.
- “Be stern.” – Laura Anxiety +1.
- Several responses can increase or decrease Kallie’s Anxiety.
- Supportive or playful responses to Shelley can increase her Friend and Desire stats.
- Asking Shelley about herself can increase Friendship.
- Completing all available questions before ending the conversation can provide additional Shelley Friendship and Trust.
Players interested in Shelley should take advantage of optional conversations. Some of her progression comes from exploring dialogue rather than simply choosing the most romantic-looking response.
Chapter 8
Chapter 8 introduces additional relationship flags and optional content conditions.
- Laura’s Anxiety can determine whether she enters a particular location.
- “We do.” – Laura Trust +1.
- “Do we?” – Laura Trust -1.
- Some explanations reduce Trust for Shelley and Kallie.
- “Are you okay?” – Laura Friend +1.
- One dialogue option unlocks the possibility of future girl-on-girl content.
- Enough Shelley Trust, Love or Friendship can unlock an additional relationship choice.
- That interaction can increase Shelley Love and Desire.
You may also see a camera-change icon during supported scenes. Selecting it changes the available camera angle.
Chapter 9
Earlier decisions become increasingly important in Chapter 9.
- Telling Laura what John saw increases both Laura Trust and Anxiety.
- Whether Kallie received her cellphone earlier changes a later scene.
- Laura’s Friendship, Desire and previous relationship events can unlock another optional scene.
- Checking on Kallie changes her Anxiety.
- Shelley’s Anxiety can change the outcome of another interaction.
The chapter also presents a content warning with an option to continue or skip the affected content.
Chapter 10
Chapter 10 contains several important conditional branches.
- The opening changes depending on whether Laura already knows about an earlier note.
- “Ask about her and Keith.” – Laura Friend +1 and Laura Anxiety +1.
- “Be honest about it.” – Shelley Trust -1.
- “She’s just struggling with the fog.” – Shelley Trust +1.
- Kallie’s Anxiety can determine whether she assists John during an encounter.
- Some choices set story flags whose effects appear later.
- Kallie’s Friendship and previous relationship progression can unlock an additional library sequence.
By this point, maintaining saves before major conversations is useful. TOXICity increasingly uses earlier flags and accumulated stats to determine what dialogue and scenes you receive.
Chapters 11–22
The second half of TOXICity continues expanding the same system rather than replacing it. New survivors and changing group relationships introduce additional Friendship, Trust, Love, Desire and Anxiety checks, while decisions made in earlier chapters continue influencing later conversations and relationship branches.
For these chapters, pay particular attention whenever the game references an earlier conversation, relationship, promise or event. These moments often indicate that a previous flag or stat threshold is being checked.
The official walkthrough covers progression through Chapter 22, followed by dedicated sections for Achievements and the Replay Gallery.
TOXICity Character & Relationship Guide
Kallie Cordon
Kallie is John’s coworker and one of the earliest characters affected by the player’s choices. Her route makes frequent use of Friend, Trust, Desire and Anxiety.
For a Kallie-focused playthrough, prioritize supportive choices that build Friendship and Trust while paying attention to Anxiety. Several scenes require specific Friendship or Trust thresholds, and later relationship content can also depend on previous intimate events.
Laura Mills
Laura is another early member of the group. Her progression uses a combination of Friend, Trust, Desire, Love and Anxiety.
Laura’s route demonstrates why TOXICity should not be played by blindly choosing every flirtatious response. Some scenes depend on Friendship or Trust in addition to Desire, while earlier relationship decisions can determine which later conversations appear.
Shelley Wallace
Shelley joins the story later and initially has different emotional circumstances from Kallie and Laura. Optional conversations are particularly valuable for her progression because asking questions and providing appropriate responses can build Friendship and Trust.
Later Shelley scenes can check several possible requirements, including Friend, Trust, Love or Desire, so players following her route should build a balanced relationship rather than concentrating exclusively on Desire.
Evelyn “Eve” Kincaid
Eve is another survivor encountered as the group moves through the city. Her arrival expands the cast and the relationship network further. As with the earlier characters, keep separate saves around major decisions if you want to explore different branches without replaying the entire story.
Best Way to Manage Stats in TOXICity
There is no single stat that guarantees access to every relationship scene. A better strategy is to decide which character you want to prioritize and then monitor the combination of stats relevant to that route.
- For relationship progression: build Friend and Trust consistently.
- For romantic progression: Love becomes increasingly important once a relationship develops.
- For attraction-based scenes: watch Desire requirements.
- For emotional outcomes: monitor Anxiety instead of assuming that a higher value is better.
- Before major decisions: create a manual save so you can test alternate branches.
Important Choice Flags and Stat Checks
Not every consequence appears immediately after a decision. TOXICity frequently stores earlier choices and checks them later.
A decision may:
- increase or decrease a visible character stat
- set a hidden story flag
- change a future conversation
- unlock or prevent an optional relationship scene
- alter how another character responds
- contribute toward an Achievement
This is why two playthroughs with similar visible stats can still produce different scenes if the players made different earlier decisions.
TOXICity Achievements
The official walkthrough includes a separate Achievement section after the main chapter walkthrough. Some achievements depend on story progression, while others can require particular decisions, flags or optional interactions.
If you are trying to complete every achievement, keep multiple manual saves rather than relying on a single save slot. A useful approach is to create a permanent save near the beginning of each chapter and another before major relationship choices.
TOXICity Replay Gallery
TOXICity also includes a Replay Gallery for supported scenes. The official walkthrough provides a separate Replay Gallery section after the Achievement guide.
If a scene remains locked, the cause may not be the immediately preceding choice. Check your earlier Friend, Trust, Love and Desire progression and any relationship flags established in previous chapters.
Tips Before Following the Walkthrough
- Use multiple manual save slots.
- Do not assume every positive stat change is automatically the best outcome.
- Pay close attention to Trust requirements because some later scenes depend on accumulated Trust.
- Remember that Anxiety behaves differently from conventional relationship points.
- Keep character routes separate when testing choices if you want to understand exactly which decisions unlock a scene.
- Check earlier chapters when a later event does not trigger despite apparently meeting the visible stat requirement.
Download TOXICity
If you need the game itself, platform information or available download resources, visit the TOXICity download page on GameCax.
TOXICity is built with Ren’Py and is available for desktop platforms and Android. Because saves and story flags can become increasingly important as the narrative progresses, keeping backup saves is recommended before making major route decisions.
TOXICity Walkthrough FAQ
What stats does TOXICity use?
TOXICity uses five main character stats: Love, Friend, Desire, Trust and Anxiety. These values can alter conversations, relationship progression and access to certain scene variations.
Is there one best route through TOXICity?
No. Many choices favor different characters or change different stats. The most useful route depends on which relationships and scenes you want to pursue.
Why did a TOXICity scene not unlock even though my stats are high?
Some scenes depend on more than one stat or on choices made in earlier chapters. TOXICity also uses story and relationship flags, so matching a visible stat threshold may not always be sufficient if an earlier prerequisite was missed.
Should I maximize Anxiety in TOXICity?
No. Anxiety represents stress rather than conventional relationship progress. Some events check whether Anxiety is above or below a threshold, so increasing it should not automatically be treated as a positive result.
Which stats are important for Kallie?
Kallie’s progression frequently uses Friendship, Trust, Desire and Anxiety, with Love becoming relevant as the relationship develops. Several scenes check Friendship or Trust thresholds established through earlier choices.
Which stats are important for Laura?
Laura’s route uses Friendship, Trust, Desire, Love and Anxiety. Previous relationship events can also change which choices and scenes appear later.
Which stats are important for Shelley?
Shelley’s route benefits from Friendship and Trust as well as Love and Desire. Optional conversations can be particularly important because some of them provide additional relationship points or establish later progression.
Does TOXICity have achievements?
Yes. TOXICity includes achievements, and the official walkthrough contains a dedicated Achievement section after the chapter-by-chapter guide.
Does TOXICity have a Replay Gallery?
Yes. The game includes replayable content, and the official walkthrough contains a dedicated Replay Gallery section explaining the relevant unlocks.
Is TOXICity available on Android?
Yes. TOXICity has an Android build in addition to Windows, macOS and Linux versions. You can check the TOXICity game page for the available platform and download information.
