GameCax Copyright & DMCA Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
GameCax respects the intellectual property rights of game developers, publishers, artists, writers, mod creators and other copyright owners.
This Copyright & DMCA Policy explains how copyright owners or their authorized representatives can report material available through GameCax that they believe infringes their rights, as well as how affected parties may submit a counter-notification when applicable.
GameCax provides game information, reviews, walkthroughs, guides and links to external resources. GameCax does not host game files directly on its own web server. However, copyright concerns involving material published on GameCax or links made available through GameCax can still be reported to us for review.
1. Copyright Infringement Reports
If you are a copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe material available through GameCax infringes an exclusive right, you may send us a written copyright infringement notice.
To help us identify and evaluate the material efficiently, please provide the information described below.
2. Information Required in a DMCA Notice
A copyright infringement notification should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest.
- Identification of the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed. If multiple copyrighted works are involved, you may provide a representative list where appropriate.
- Identification of the material at issue and enough information for GameCax to locate it. Please provide the exact GameCax page URL whenever possible.
- Your contact information, including information reasonably sufficient for us to contact you, such as your name, email address, mailing address and telephone number.
- A good-faith statement that you believe the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- An accuracy and authority statement confirming that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
Providing the exact GameCax URL and clearly identifying the copyrighted work can significantly reduce the time needed to locate and review the material.
3. What You Can Report
A copyright report may concern material published directly on GameCax or a resource linked from a GameCax page.
Examples may include:
- Copyrighted artwork or images
- Game screenshots or promotional material
- Written material
- Walkthroughs or guides
- Mods or other creator resources
- Links to allegedly unauthorized copies of copyrighted works
Please identify the specific material involved rather than submitting only a general request concerning an entire website, developer or game.
4. External Game Files and Third-Party Resources
GameCax does not host game files directly on its own web server.
Some GameCax pages may contain links to files or resources hosted by independent third-party services.
If a valid copyright complaint concerns an external resource linked from GameCax, we may review the relevant GameCax page and, where appropriate, remove or disable the link.
Removing a link from GameCax does not remove the underlying file from an independent third-party server.
If you need the underlying file removed from a third-party hosting service, you may also need to contact that service directly through its own copyright or abuse procedure.
5. How GameCax Handles Copyright Notices
When we receive a sufficiently complete copyright complaint, GameCax may review the information provided and take action where appropriate.
Depending on the circumstances, action may include:
- Reviewing the identified GameCax page or material
- Removing or disabling access to material published on GameCax
- Removing or disabling a link to an external resource
- Requesting additional information when the material cannot be identified
- Contacting the affected contributor or other relevant party where appropriate
Submitting a complaint does not automatically establish infringement. We may consider the information provided and the circumstances before determining what action is appropriate.
6. Counter-Notification
If material you provided has been removed or access to it has been disabled as a result of a copyright notice, and you believe the removal occurred because of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification where applicable.
A counter-notification should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal or disabling.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States Federal District Court as required by applicable DMCA procedures and, where applicable, accepting service of process from the person who submitted the original infringement notice or that person’s agent.
Please be aware that a valid counter-notification may be forwarded to the party who submitted the original copyright complaint as part of the applicable process.
7. Restoration Following a Counter-Notification
Where applicable under the DMCA, material subject to a valid counter-notification may be restored after the required statutory process unless the party who submitted the original notice informs us that appropriate legal action has been initiated to prevent restoration.
The exact handling of a counter-notification may depend on the nature and location of the material involved.
8. Repeat Infringement
GameCax may take appropriate action regarding users or contributors who repeatedly submit material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
Where applicable and appropriate to the services provided by GameCax, this may include restricting contributions or access associated with repeat infringement.
9. Misrepresentation and Abuse of the DMCA Process
Please submit copyright notices and counter-notifications carefully and in good faith.
Copyright law may impose consequences for knowingly making material misrepresentations in an infringement notice or counter-notification.
If you are uncertain whether material infringes your copyright, whether a particular use is legally authorized or whether an exception applies, you may wish to seek qualified legal advice before submitting a formal notice.
10. Copyright Ownership and Attribution
Games, characters, artwork, screenshots, trademarks and other third-party materials referenced on GameCax remain the property of their respective owners.
GameCax does not claim ownership of third-party games or independently created mods, walkthroughs or other resources unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Where the creator of a third-party walkthrough, mod or similar resource can be identified, GameCax aims to provide appropriate attribution.
If you are a creator and believe attribution on a GameCax page is missing or incorrect, you may contact us with the relevant page URL and information supporting the requested correction.
11. Reporting a Copyright Issue
Copyright infringement notices should be sent to the copyright contact identified by GameCax.

Please include the information required in Section 2 and the exact GameCax URL involved whenever possible.
12. Other Content and Attribution Issues
Not every content dispute requires a formal DMCA notice.
If your concern involves incorrect attribution, inaccurate developer information, a broken link or another issue that is not a copyright infringement claim, please use the GameCax Contact page.
This helps us distinguish formal copyright claims from ordinary correction requests.
13. Privacy and Copyright Requests
A copyright notice may contain personal information necessary to process the request. Information associated with a notice or counter-notification may need to be shared with relevant parties or processed as required by applicable procedures.
For general information about how GameCax handles personal information, see the GameCax Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to This Policy
GameCax may update this Copyright & DMCA Policy when our website, procedures or applicable requirements change.
When the policy is revised, the updated version will be published on this page and the Last updated date should be changed accordingly.
15. Related GameCax Policies
GameCax respects the work of developers and creators. If you believe your copyrighted work is being used improperly through GameCax, please provide a complete notice so that the specific material can be reviewed.
