Curse of the Night Stalker [Ch.7 v0.5] [AncalagonSlayerDesigns]

In this AVN you take the role of Valtier, a hunter and forager for a small town. During a hunt, he is bitten by a vampiric snake and begins to undergo the symptoms of vampirism. This leads to increased bloodlust and sexual lust, which in turn, begins to impact the people around him even while he tries to live a normal life.

You will manage his daily life, maintaining various supplies while keeping suspicion low. Meanwhile, you must decide whether to resist your vampiric nature to protect the women around you from becoming your thralls, but becoming your lovers by their choice. Or corrupt them further into more depraved acts, bringing them closer to an eternity of sexual servitude.

Curse of the Night Stalker walkthrough

Curse of the Night Stalker is an adult vampire visual novel developed by AncalagonSlayerDesigns. The story follows Valtier, a hunter and forager who provides supplies for a small town until a hunting trip changes his life. After being bitten by a vampiric snake, he begins developing supernatural symptoms that bring increasing bloodlust and other dangerous urges into what was previously an ordinary life.

Instead of focusing only on dialogue choices, the game combines narrative progression with resource and stat management. Valtier must maintain supplies, earn and spend Gold, control suspicion and decide how he responds to his changing nature. Those decisions contribute to a broader conflict between resisting the curse and allowing corruption to reshape both Valtier and his relationships with the people around him.

Curse of the Night Stalker Review

Story & Setting

Curse of the Night Stalker begins with a strong supernatural premise. Valtier is not introduced as a powerful vampire. He starts as a hunter and forager whose responsibilities are connected to the everyday survival of his community. The vampiric snake bite disrupts that routine and gradually forces him to deal with abilities and urges he never asked for.

This makes the curse more interesting than a simple transformation. Bloodlust becomes something Valtier has to manage while continuing to interact with people who may become suspicious if his behavior changes too dramatically. Maintaining a normal life therefore becomes part of the conflict rather than merely background story.

The central question is what Valtier does with his condition. He can attempt to resist his vampiric nature and protect the people around him, or increasingly embrace corruption and use his supernatural influence for a very different future.

Gameplay

Although Curse of the Night Stalker remains primarily a visual novel, it includes several interconnected progression systems. Players have to consider resources and character statistics alongside conventional story decisions.

A useful representation of its gameplay is:

Gather Resources → Manage Supplies & Gold → Control Bloodlust → Avoid Suspicion → Make Story Choices → Gain Pure or Corrupt Progression → Unlock Different Events

Supplies matter because Valtier still has practical responsibilities despite his transformation. Gold provides another resource to manage, while suspicion represents the danger of behaving in ways that reveal too much about what is happening to him.

Pure and Corrupt progression gives the larger moral conflict a mechanical component. Choices are therefore valuable for more than immediate dialogue differences because they can contribute to the direction in which Valtier develops.

Vampirism, Corruption & Relationships

Valtier’s vampirism connects the story, resource systems and relationships. The curse increases his bloodlust and changes the way he interacts with the people around him, forcing players to decide whether his new nature should be controlled or embraced.

The Pure direction centers more heavily on resisting those impulses and preserving the autonomy of the people close to Valtier. Relationships can develop through their own choices rather than being completely shaped by his supernatural influence.

The Corrupt direction moves in the opposite direction. Valtier can increasingly embrace the power and impulses created by the curse, changing both his own behavior and the dynamics of his relationships.

This creates an important distinction between relationship progression and corruption progression. The game is not simply asking which character Valtier should pursue. It also asks what kind of person he becomes while developing those relationships.

Visuals & Presentation

Curse of the Night Stalker uses pre-rendered 3D imagery to present its supernatural setting, characters and major story events. The darker vampire premise gives the game opportunities to move between ordinary town life and more threatening scenes connected to Valtier’s changing nature.

The presentation also supports several gameplay systems through the interface. Gold, Suspicion and Pure/Corrupt progression need to remain understandable because they can influence how players approach decisions and later scenes.

A gallery system provides another useful feature for players interested in revisiting unlocked content, while chapter navigation and stat-adjustment functionality make it easier to explore alternative choices without treating every playthrough as completely disposable.

GameCax Review

Curse of the Night Stalker stands out because vampirism is more than a narrative excuse for supernatural scenes. The curse affects Valtier’s resources, bloodlust, suspicion, relationships and moral direction, giving the premise meaningful connections to gameplay.

The Pure versus Corrupt structure is particularly effective. Instead of presenting corruption as the only progression system, the game allows resistance to function as a legitimate direction. That gives players a reason to consider the consequences of choices rather than automatically selecting whichever option appears to unlock the most immediate content.

Resource management adds another layer. Supplies, Gold and suspicion mean that Valtier’s ordinary responsibilities continue to matter even while supernatural problems become increasingly important. This helps reinforce the idea that he is attempting to maintain a normal life while gradually becoming something very different.

The drawback is complexity. Story choices, resources, bloodlust, suspicion and Pure/Corrupt progression can overlap. Players pursuing a particular route may eventually encounter an event they cannot unlock without understanding which earlier stat, resource or decision created the requirement.

That complexity also creates the game’s biggest opportunity. Players who enjoy tracking consequences and deliberately building either a resistant or corrupt Valtier have considerably more to work with than they would in a purely linear vampire visual novel.

GameCax rates Curse of the Night Stalker 8.7/10.

Pros

  • Vampirism is integrated into both the story and gameplay systems.
  • Pure and Corrupt progression provides meaningful alternative character directions.
  • Gold, supplies and suspicion add resource management beyond conventional visual novel choices.
  • Valtier’s struggle to maintain a normal life gives the supernatural premise more context.
  • Relationships can develop differently depending on how Valtier handles his curse.
  • Gallery, chapter navigation and stat-management features improve route exploration.
  • The combination of stats and choices creates strong replay and walkthrough potential.

Cons

  • Multiple overlapping statistics and requirements can make some progression difficult to diagnose without a guide.
  • Players looking for a completely linear visual novel may find the resource management more involved than expected.
  • Following a specific Pure or Corrupt direction requires more attention to earlier choices and statistics.

Valtier’s Curse Connects Bloodlust, Suspicion and Everyday Survival

Curse of the Night Stalker makes Valtier’s vampirism part of the actual progression rather than using it only as a supernatural story theme. He still has responsibilities involving supplies and Gold while also dealing with bloodlust and the risk of attracting suspicion. This creates situations where maintaining his ordinary life can be just as important as deciding how to respond to his increasingly vampiric nature.

Pure and Corrupt Choices Shape What Valtier Becomes

Valtier does not have to approach the curse in only one way. Pure-oriented decisions allow him to resist his darker impulses and preserve a different relationship with the people around him, while Corrupt progression increasingly embraces what his new nature allows him to do. Players pursuing a specific direction should therefore consider Pure and Corrupt effects alongside immediate scene outcomes instead of treating every choice as isolated.

Stats and Earlier Choices Can Explain Missing Scenes

Progression can involve more than reaching the next story conversation. Gold, provisions, Suspicion, Pure/Corrupt progression and previous decisions can all become relevant when trying to reach particular content. If a scene does not appear, checking these requirements individually is usually more useful than repeatedly advancing without changing anything.
