Persistent flags can continue changing future dialogue and events, allowing earlier choices to matter without forcing the developer to maintain completely separate versions of the entire game.

The objective and character-hint systems are also useful additions. Main objectives provide a broader direction while individual character hints help players determine what they should do next with a specific storyline.

The main weakness is progression clarity. A character event can depend on a previous conversation, an item, a particular location, the correct time, sleeping to advance the day or an existing story flag.
